B-boy

This year Christian took a B-boy class.  His teacher, Chaco, is a serious b-boy dancer. Christian had a great time learning some moves, spinning on his head, and playing with the boys.  His class actually had two girls that were amazing, but they chose not to be in the final performance.  Here are some pictures of the fun night!

Jr. Prom, I mean Easter Sunday...

These pictures pack a lot of personality.  I couldn't get a "normal" shot of the kids Easter morning.  They were determined to pose in their new outfits.  Nana Reenie sent both Kate and Christian multiple outfits all the way from Texas, so they had a lot to choose from Easter morning.  Kate picked an outfit that is a twiner of her cousin, Brooklyn.  Of course, she paired it with some "heels" from Nana Reenie.  Christian picked out the outfit that had a special frog pinned to it.  We had a wonderful Sunday service where the kids were part of the Primary Choir.  They sang "Beautiful Savior."

Serious Business

Egg dying is serious business.  So serious that Kate set up an assembly production line this year.

Easter Morning

The kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny made it to our house.  They followed their candy trails to the rooms where the bunny hid their baskets.  Kate's was hidden in the secret room.  She had to go back in several times to finally find it.  Christian's was hidden in the living room behind the piano.  The kids have put themselves on a "no packaged candy" restriction for a year (there's a nice payout at the end).  They get two free days a year and this was one of them.  I think they ate candy from the time they woke up until they went to bed.

Black Stallions

Christian was on his first basketball team this season.  His team was the Black Stallions.  He absolutely loved it.  He dominated the boards, led the team with assists, and was a great team player.  Basketball nights were the highlight of his week (and the constant bribe in our home).  I am looking forward to watching this guy play many more seasons.

Here are some pictures from the last game of the season.

Happy Day

Irene ("Nana Reenie") came to stay with the kids over the weekend so that I could go down to California.  The kids had such a great time with their grandma.  The kids had created a plan for my birthday and she helped them execute the plan.  I woke up to birthday party kazoos, a banner, breakfast in bed, and gifts from the kids.  I felt extremely loved and blessed to have these little people in my life.

Later that evening, we headed to Pei Wei for dinner before Christian's last basketball game of the season.  It was a fun day.

Happy Birthday Weekend To Me!

I was able to go down to California and spend it with some of my favorite people, my friend Ali and my mom. I was lucky enough to cross paths with a lot of friends from different parts of my life--Elizabeth, BYU roommates and friends, Julie and Yvonne from Seattle. It was perfect. I wish that I had taken more pictures. We were able to tag along on a Balboa Island version of the "Amazing Race."  That needs a whole separate post!

My favorite card from Ali.

Elizabeth was able to meet us for dinner.
